Team Ireland will soon be heading to America for the Motocross of Nations (MXON) which takes place on 6-7 October 2018.
To raise funds in support of Team Ireland’s attendance at this event, the MCCNI held a fundraiser at the world-famous Desertmartin Motocross track on 8 September 2018.

Thanks to Billy McKeown and the Desertmartin Team who ensured the track was in pristine condition for the 140 riders who turned up in support of Team Ireland. As an added bonus, Billy McKeown had kindly reduced the cost of hiring the track by 50% which was greatly appreciated.
Thanks also to the medical team NI Sports who waived their fees in support of Team Ireland.

Thanks to Blue Ribbon outside caterers who fed all of our hardworking flag marshalls and donated cash for the cause.
Thanks to all the riders and their family and friends who supported the team by purchasing merchandise and/or raffle tickets on the day.

It was great to see Stuart Edmonds there, having only recently been discharged from hospital following surgery. We wish Stuart a speedy recovery.

Credit to Graeme Irwin, Martin Barr, Stuart Edmonds and. Richard Bird who kindly signed posters during the event, had their photos taken with riders, provided advice and raffled donated items to raise funds.
Team manager, Philip McCullough found himself in the spotlight, being interviewed by the BBC at the track. He also came out of retirement on the day to ride in the vets class, winning all three races.
Graeme Irwin rode in the expert class and put on a spectacular show for the crowd.
A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all, raising over £4,000 of much needed funds. We wish Team Ireland all the very best in America.
