The first purpose built electric motocross arena in the UK & Ireland opens for business this weekend at Lisnabilla Rd near Moira after an opening ceremony where the ribbon was cut by Lisburn City & Castlereagh Council Mayor, Cllr Uel Mackin.

Age crowd of invited guests and dignitaries watched demonstrations by top local motocross stars headed by British & European Championship contender Martin Barr and including Ulster & Irish Champions like Jason Meara and Robert Hamilton, all of whom had to be prised off the machines as they were enjoying the experience so much!

Built on a Green Field site by local entrepreneurs Gareth George and Kyle Rainey, the visionary pair acknowledged the assistance they have had from the local council, particularly Cllr James Tinsley in getting through the planning process, and the Mayor, Cllr Mackin, said he was very pleased to add this unique facility to the recreation offer within the borough.

As the staff at E Trax have followed the coaching qualifications set out by the sports official Governing Body, the MRA, they are fully trained with First Aid, Safeguarding and Coaching skills, and the MRA Director, Malcom Beattie who was also in attendance said the Association was excited by the opportunity given by E Trax to allow new people to sample off road motorcycle sport at a reasonable cost before committing to buying a machine.

E Trax will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 1200 to 2100 for half hour sessions at a time, including the hire of the exciting KTM Freeride machines for Adults, and the smaller Kuborg machines for kids, there is also a smaller track for the younger customers.

The E Trax facility has a Facebook page and a website www.etrax-ni.co.uk for further details.
