Against the back drop of the hottest heatwave to hit these shores in several decades, Loughbrickland Motocross Park opened for business, hosting the Ulster Youth Motocross Championship at this new facility , based on the A1 between Banbridge and Newry.
It was a credit to Breda Meara and her dedicated track preparation team, with no rain for nearly two weeks, and record breaking temperatures, track preparation and maintenance on this natural hard pack circuit was always going to be challenging , against the odds the first event at Loughbrickland was a roaring success.
In short , this new venue holds a wealth of opportunity for the future of Motocross in Co , Down , with enough space to get creative , the circuit is ideally located, and has adequate facilities to run both adult and youth events.
