Lisburn based Gary Moulds with English passenger Steve Kirwin from Portsmouth finished second overall today at the rough Essex circuit at Walkes Colne near Stansted airport to consolidate their second place in the MAXXIS British Sidecarcross Championship.

Less than 23 hours after Gary clinched the domestic double with an Ulster title to add to their Irish title, Gary & Steve rode to a third in race 1 despite a sticking steering damper on the VMC AMS KTM behind Championship Leader Brett Wilkinson & Dan Chamberlain, while in race 2 they finished second, third race proved to be eventful with the ignition cutting out sporadically, he managed a third place.

Big sister Emma was reunited with her old passenger Niki Adair from Randalstown and they finished a superb 13th in race 1, a sixteenth in race two with a front wheel puncture, and a fantastic tenth in race 3 n her comeback ride after a long-term injury sustained in round 1 of the British Championships at Desertmartin.

With two rounds still to run Gary is still in with a chance as there are 150 points available and he is only 50 odd behind Brett.

Meanwhile, back at home, Waringstown 8-year-old Jacob Glenn wound up his last year in the 50cc Class 1 Junior Quadcross Ulster Championships with another third place, this is Jacobs last year in the 50cc Class and Mum & Dad Sharon & Andrew are justifiably proud of Jacob and are hoping he continues into 2019 in the bigger, 110cc Class.
