A large entry of Classic, Evo and youth riders attended the NICSC night race at Bellshill on Friday 27 July.

Track conditions were perfect after some 40 tractor loads of water were put onto the track on the Thursday afternoon following the recent dry spell of weather.

Racing got underway with the traditional pre77 classic bikes. John Griffiths and Harry Stitt battled for the lead on their Metisse-framed classics. In the combined BW85/125 races Conor Mullan, Ben Hall, Jack Henderson and Aaron Lappin headed the large entry with some close racing from all the other competitors.

In the A and B twinshocks it was James Thompson, Ian Dunlop and Gary Bishop who battled for the top positions while in the C and D group Richard Griffiths, Tadg Heaney and Paul McCavana had a close race.

In the SW85 and 65 combined races Conal Bell, Brett Kelly and Jack Bishop had a close race at the front of the field.

The final race of the evening was a new class just introduced for the Bells Hill – an event for 1980-2000 bikes. Multi British champion Gordon Crockard headed the field on his Honda closely followed by James Thompson, Neal Thompson, Mark Galloway and Ricky Watt on their immaculately turned out machines.

The club would like to thank the landowners, officials, helpers, ambulance crews and the Knock and EVO motorcycle clubs for their help running this event.
